During my time in St Petersburg I was fortunate enough to meet the wonderful people at the English Communication Club. Visiting Russia all the way from New Zealand I knew very few people in this new city. Through the English Communication Club I was able to practice my Russian and help others with their English while enjoying some of St Petersburg’s unique attractions. Not only was I able to enjoy tours of the Hermitage with my new friends and experience the local cafe culture but I was also able to visit places I would never have found on my own such as our day trip to Mannerheim line. I highly recommend to anyone visiting St Petersburg to go along to one of the English Communication Club’s meetings – my time in the city would definitely not have been as great if I hadn’t gone.

I like meetings in the English Communication club. I get a lot of positive emotions here. I was able to find a lot of new friends including friends from other countries, I was able to improve my English and remove the language barrier here. Meetings are always different and funny: we play games, make films, have discussions, go out to the countryside, have trips to Finland, ride bicycle and roller-blade and so on.
